Vinita Venkatesh obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Statistics from the University Of Bombay and went on to study Business Management at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad, India’s premier business school, with a specialisation in Marketing Management.
A member of The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, London, Vinita has over 25 years of experience in the shipping industry. Her career comprises tenures with The Shipping Corporation of India, P&O Ports (now part of DP World) and Samsara Group and covers a wide range of specialisations from liner shipping and agency to ports, CFS and autologistics. She has served as the Chennai Coordinator of the India Pakistan and Bangladesh Conference (IPBC) and has been Guest Faculty at the PSG Institute of Management, Coimbatore and the National Academy of Customs, Excise & Narcotics (NACEN), Chennai.
She is Director, Krishnapatnam Port Container Terminal (KPCT) and steers business development for the port, which has shown exceptional growth in throughput by-passing industry norms, largely attributable to an innovative market approach.
Vinita is happily married to Venkatesh, an alumnus of IIT Chennai and IIM Ahmedabad, and they are blessed with two daughters.
