Vincent Valentine is a transport economist at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in Geneva, Switzerland. Whilst here he has held various roles including: Principal co-author of the annual Review of Maritime Transport (2007-2014); Coordinator of the Review of Maritime Transport (2008-2010) and most recently Officer-in-Charge of the Transport Section (2010-2014). Immediately prior to this he served in the Transport Division of the UN's regional commission in Bangkok, Thailand (UNESCAP) from 2004-2007.

Anil Vitarana commenced his long career in the shipping industry in 1973 after graduating from the University of Ceylon with a Bachelors Degree in Law. His first job was at the Central Freight Bureau of Sri Lanka. He spent 10 years with the Freight Bureau, heading the organization in the final three years as its General Manager. He did take a leave of absence, during four of these years, to obtain a Masters Degree in Law and a Ph.d in Maritime Law from the University of Southampton, UK where he was a Hartley Research Scholar.

Ennarasu Karunesan is a First Class Mechanical Engineering Graduate, holding a Master’s Degree in Management from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai. Arasu, as he is affectionately known, started his career as a design engineer in the heavy engineering industry. He then joined the prestigious IIT Madras as a Research Scholar.

Arasu served in the Indian Ports Service and worked with Mumbai Port for about 10 years held various Managerial Positions. In 1996, he joined Westport, Malaysia as General Manager Operations and also served as General Manager-Engineering where he rose to HEAD the Westport, Malaysia’s premier Container Terminal, currently handles 9 million TEUs annually.

Sarathkumara Premachandra started his career in 1978 as a Management trainee and held the positions of the Chief Operations Manager, Director (operations) and the Additional Managing Director at the Sri Lanka Ports Authority before joining CMA CGM group in 2002. He also served at the Port of Fujairah and Westport of Malaysia in Senior Management positions. He has wide experience in working with a multitude of ports in many countries on Terminal investment and efficiency enhancement on behalf of CMA CGM. He is currently the Regional Manager of CMA Terminals in Asia in addition to being the Technical Consultant for CMA CGM Malaysia

Ahamedul Karim Chowdhury works as a Terminal Manager in Chittagong Port Authority. His responsibilities are mainly Terminal operations along with landslide cargo operations since 1997. He began his career with OOCL and worked there for five years in marketing. He obtained Masters in Shipping & Transport with distinction 'cum laude' from the Netherlands Maritime University in 2008-2009. He also obtained Diploma with distinction in 'Port, Shipping & Transport Management from International Maritime Transport Academy, the Netherlands in 2005-6 and diploma in' Marketing of Services' from Maastricht School of Management in 2011.
